Mr. Paul L. Garoppo is the Director of Operations for Defense Warriors Government Solutions and the DoO/Facility Security Officer for Datum Software, Inc. (Government Solutions). Working from a remote office in Navarre, Florida, he supports both Datum and DWGS Department of Defense customers with all IT, engineering, logistics, information assurance, Program Management and training solutions acquisitions. He manages all marketing, and business development activities, including company IDIQ contracts, as well as sub-contracts on which the companies are a preferred vendor.
Mr. Garoppo was born in Quantico, Virginia and joined the Air Force in 1986 at the age of 26 after working in the telecommunications industry. During his military service, he served as an UH-60/C-130 weapons systems gunner supporting para-rescue in Eglin AFB, Florida; F-117 Weapons System Technician, Tonopah, Nevada, Desert Storm with tours in Yemen; and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, as well as bed down operations and site closure after deployment. F-15 Aircraft Maintenance Weapons Systems lead at Langley AFB, Virginia; tours for Operation Southern Watch, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Operation Vigilant Warrior, Kuwait; King Abdul Aziz, Saudi Arabia. Base READY Logistics Program Manager; Langley AFB, Virginia, and Saudi Arabia. F-16 Armament Back-shop Flight Chief, Italian/English Contracts Interpreter, Logistics Program/Deployment Manager, Aviano, Italy, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia. F-16 Weapons Flight line Expeditor/Quality Assurance Chief Inspector, Afghanistan; Balad AB, Iraq; and Hill AFB, Utah. Highly decorated throughout his active-duty service earning Airman of the Year twice, Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO)/Senior NCO of the Year four times, Airman Leadership School Military Citizenship, and Commanders Professional Military Education (PME) Leadership Awards. In addition to 3 achievement and 4 commendation medals, he received 2 meritorious service medals for his 10 combat tours and career accomplishments.
Upon retirement from active duty, Mr. Garoppo became a consultant and built several very successful small disadvantaged 8(a), Service Disabled, Veteran owned, and woman owned businesses, where he served as the Program Manager, Facility Security Officer, Regional Manager, Director of Operations and Vice President and VP of Business Development. Simultaneously,
Mr. Garoppo is deeply embedded in Systems Engineering, Logistics Planning, Medical professions placement, Engineering, and IT platforms along with Military Training development and stand-up instruction to the Army, Navy and Air Force. Mr. Garoppo has certifications in Aircraft Armament Systems Technology, Aircraft Mechanical and Electrical Systems Engineering, Business, and over 50 maintenance, business development, quality assurance, program management, facility security, and acquisitions certifications. Mr. Garoppo was selected by the Governor of Utah to direct a program to lower unemployment on a federal grant. His efforts proved successful managing to lower the unemployment rate to just under 1.2%, the lowest ever in the state. His 20 years of small business expertise includes Organizational Leadership, Business Management and professional communications. Mr. Garoppo is an active member of the Air Force Association (AFA), has held positions of VP of Veteran Affairs, AFCEA member Chair of Emerald Coast Surfrider Foundation as well as other personal and professional organizations.
Outside of the office, Mr. Garoppo is a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoys surfing, paddle boarding, golf, travel, entrepreneurship, and performing ukulele music.
